Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, Section (5)(a)(1):  The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees:  a) 111 Valley Road, Hamburg, PA, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards from the storage racking system located against the rear wall of the production floor that was not anchored to the supporting surface, on or about December 12, 2024.  b) 111 Valley Road, Hamburg, PA, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards from the storage racking system located near the lockout / tagout station on the production floor that was not anchored to the supporting surface, on or about December 12, 2024.  c) 111 Valley Road, Hamburg, PA, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards from the storage racking system located against the rear wall of the production floor, as the racking did not have the load limit labeled on the racking system, on or about December 12, 2024.  d) 111 Valley Road, Hamburg, PA, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards from the storage racking system located near the lockout / tagout station on the production floor, as the racking did not have the load limit labeled on the racking system, on or about December 12, 2024.  Abatement certification and documentation not required.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips.  a) 111 Valley Road, Hamburg, PA, employees were operating a Grizzly Industrial Bandsaw (Model G0514X) to perform work duties, including, but not limited to, cutting waste material, and the adjustable guard for the band saw blade was not adjusted to within 1-inch of the material being cut, exposing the employees to the unused portion of the band saw blade, on or about December 12, 2024.  Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
