1910.212(a)(3)(iii): Special handtools for placing and removing material shall be such as to permit easy handling of material without the operator placing a hand in the danger zone. Such tools shall not be in lieu of other guarding required by this section, but can only be used to supplement protection provided. On or about March 14, 2025, at an establishment located at 406 North Division Street, Waupaca, Wisconsin, in the Mill Room, employees sorting castings on the Upper Pick and Sort Deck conveyor (Magaldi Power SPA, Part No.: SPB000424, Serial No.: 1325) were exposed to caught-in hazards created by the accumulator gate and conveyor belt. The machine was not guarded to prevent exposure to these hazards.
