29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: WORKSHOPS: On/or about September 8, 2025, and prior to, the rotating chucks of the following machines were unguarded exposing the employees to the hazard of cuts and abrasions. MACHINE SHOP: 1. Sharp 1660L lathe; unguarded rotating chuck. ABATED DURING THE INSPECTION. 2. Monarch lathe; unguarded rotating chuck. ABATED DURING THE INSPECTION.
