US Truck Body
An employee was setting up a sheet of 0.04-inch aluminum to cut on a shear. As he got close to the end of the sheet, he pressed the foot pedal to make another cut, which activated the material holders. The holders crushed the employee's right middle and ring fingers resulting in fractures and amputations down to the first knuckle. The employee was hospitalized. The machine was guarded at the time of the incident.

The employee was holding the tongue with a hitch attachment. As he ascended the stairs, his left little finger was caught between the hitch and the side of the top step.
