Event description

Employee dies of probable heart attack

Investigation abstract

Employee #1 was dusting a dead front switchboard when he called for help. The on ly other employee on the premises was working on another floor and, by the time he arrived, Employee #1 was lying unconscious on the floor with his eyes open, b ut not breathing. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the emergency room at the Beekman Hospital. The attending physician said that all indications were that E mployee #1 died of a heart attack, but that electrocution could not be absolutel y ruled out. His body was sent to the medical examiner for an autopsy; no electr ical burns were found on the body and the equipment showed no evidence of a shor t circuit.
