WASTE WATER PLANT OPERATOR SUFFERED FATAL HEART ATTACK

Investigation abstract

AT APPROXIMATELY 7:57 AM ON FEBRUARY 12, 1988, EMPLOYEE #1 WAS STANDING ON A ONE FOOT HIGH STOOL RECORDING THE DAY'S WATER FLOW ON A STRIP CHART. THE CHART WAS MOUNTED SIX FEET ABOVE THE FLOOR. THE EMPLOYEE SUDDENLY SUFFERED A MASSIVE HEART ATTACK (PER THE MEDICAL EXAMINER), FALLING DOWN AND TO THE LEFT, STRIKING HIS H EAD ON A PUMP HOUSING. THE RESULTING HEAD WOUND BLED PROFUSELY. EMERGENCY SERVIC ES WERE CALLED TO THE SITE. THE MEDICAL EXAMINER DECLARED THE EMPLOYEE DEAD. THE EMPLOYEE'S BODY WAS THEN MOVED TO FARMINGTON (THE STATE'S MEDICAL EXAMINERS OFF ICE) FOR AN AUTOPSY. THE INITIAL RESULTS OF THE AUTOPSY REVEALED THAT THE EMPLOY EE DIED OF A MASSIVE HEART ATTACK, CAUSED BY A BLOCKED ARTERY.
