Event description
Employee injured when struck by roll of roofing paper
Investigation abstract
Employee #1 was working at a construction site. A supply truck entered the site to unload roofing supplies onto the roof of a building. The truck bed had been e xtended approximately 16 feet into the air in preparation for unloading the supp lies. The workers unloading the truck had taken their places: one was on the roo f receiving material while one stood on the truck bed handing off the supplies. Employee #1 was on the ground below the truck. While the truck was being unloade d, a roll of roofing paper fell off the truck bed, striking him in the back. Emp loyee #1 sustained bruises and contusions to his back, for which he has treated and released from the hospital.
