Employee injured in fall from foundation wall

Investigation abstract

On June 19, 1987, Employee #1, of George's Construction, was walking along a 7-f t-high by 24-ft-long foundation wall to gain access to the other side of a five- unit townhouse. He slipped and fell 7 ft to the gravel surface of the basement, landing on his feet and then falling face first into a metal lolly column that w as lying on the floor. Employee #1 was treated and released from a local hospita l. Ladders were available for safe access, and Employee #1 admitted that another means of access was available. The employer was at another site.
