Event description
Employee punctures foot with an air powered staple gun
Investigation abstract
Employee #1 was fastening 1/2 in. plywood to wood roof joists using a Senco air- powered staple gun, model MZNFD010, serial #84A00361, working pressure 100 psi, when he inadvertently ejected a 1 inch staple into the upper portion of his righ t foot. Employee #1 sustained a minor puncture wound and returned to work within one day. The company provides extensive training on gun safety and proper use a nd Employee #1, who had been employed approximately 4 months and had been throug h the training program, stated that the accident could have been prevented by no t rushing his work.
