ELECTRIC SHOCK - CONTACT WITH OVERHEAD LINE THRU CRANE BOOM
Investigation abstract
AN EMPLOYEE WAS PAINTING THE SIDE OF A BUILDING THAT WAS 27 FEET, 2 INCHES IN HE IGHT. THE EMPLOYEE WAS WORKING FROM A 40-FOOT EXTENSION LADDER THAT HAD BEEN EXT ENDED TO A LENGTH OF 29 FEET, 2 INCHES. AN OVERHEAD POWER LINE RAN NEXT TO THE B UILDING AT DISTANCE OF ABOUT 10 FEET FROM THE BUILDING AND AT A HEIGHT OF ABOUT 20 FEET. AS THE EMPLOYEE WAS MOVING THE LADDER ALONG THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING, H E LOST CONTROL OF IT, AND IT CONTACTED THE POWER LINE. THE EMPLOYEE WAS ELECTROC UTED.
