TWO BUILDINGS COLLAPSED ON WORKERS

Investigation abstract

ON APRIL 4, 1984 AT APPROXIMATELY 2:30 PM, 13 EMPLOYEES WERE WORKING ON RENOVATI NG THE BUILDINGS AT 104-106 DELANCY ST. NY. NY. WHEN, FOR REASONS YET UNKNOWN, T HE TWO BUILDINGS COLLAPSED KILLING EMPLYOEES NO. 1 & 2 AND INJURING EMPLOYEES NO . 3 TO 7 WITH VARIOUS CUTS AND BRUISES. APPARENTLY THE BUILDING MIGHT HAVE COLLA PSED BECAUSE OF UNSOUND STRUCTURAL MEMBERS. THE INJURIED WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPI TAL AND TREATED FOR THEIR INJURIES AND RELEASED WITHOUT HOSPITALIZATION.
