Employee severely burned in tank explosion
Investigation abstract
Employee #1 works for a company that buys and sells used motor oil. Ninety perce nt of the used oil is combustible; ten percent is flammable. Employee #1, a chai n smoker, was transferring used fuel from one truck to another. It is believed t hat Employee #1 climbed on the truck to open the top hatch. When the hatch was o pen, his lighted cigarette ignited the vapors, causing an explosion inside the t ank truck. Employee #1 was severely burned on the upper half of his body.
