Event description
One employee killed, one injured in gasoline fire
Investigation abstract
At approximately 1:00 p.m. on September 2, 1987, Employees #1 and #2, of Nu-Look , Inc., were working at the Haldeman Lincoln-Mercury location. Employee #1 was u sing gasoline as a solvent to clean the rustproofing bay. It is believed that he poured gasoline on the floor and the flammable vapors ignited when he started a hot water cleaning machine. Employee #1 was severely burned in the fire and die d on September 4, 1987. Employee #2 suffered minor burns to his hands while atte mpting to rescue Employee #1.
