Event description

Employee's fingertip amputated in slicing machine

Investigation abstract

While working in the cafeteria, Employee #1 was slicing tomatoes on a Hobart sli cer, model #1712, serial #56-825-649. A piece of tomato got stuck on the dischar ge side of the slicer. Employee #1 tried to free the tomato piece with his finge r while the slicer was still running. The slicer cut off Employee #1's fingertip .
