BURNS - ARCS FROM JIGSAW IGNITED GASOLINE FIRE
Investigation abstract
SOME EMPLOYEES WERE IN A TRENCH REMOVING SOME OLD WELDED GAS LINES, WHICH RAN FR OM THE LOADING RACK TO THE PUMPS. ONE EMPLOYEE WAS USING AN UNGROUNDED JIGSAW TO CUT THE PIPE. HE HAD WRAPPED THE SAW IN PLASTIC IN AN ATTEMPT TO CONTAIN THE AR CING. AS THE LINE WAS CUT, GASOLINE POURED OUT AND WAS IGNITED. THE EMPLOYEE REC EIVED BURNS ON HIS HANDS AND ARMS AS A RESULT OF THE FIRE.
