Event description
One employee fractures jaw and incurs laceration when pinned
Investigation abstract
At approximately 9:39 a.m. on May 11, 2021, an employee was unstrapping a load of granite slabs when the slabs shifted and slid onto the employee, pinning him to the ground. The weight of the granite slabs caused the employee to sustain a broken jaw and deep lacerations to various parts of the body. The employee was hospitalized for treatment. A second employee sustained minor injuries but was not hospitalized. The incident involved shifting granite slabs that were inadequately secured during the unstrapping process.
