Event description

Employee amputates two fingers in energized wrapper machine

Investigation abstract

At 2:30 a.m. on June 15, 2021, an employee working as a machine operator for a snack food manufacturer was operating an Imperial Wrapper Machine. The machine was off at the time when the employee flipped open a cover on the blade. The cover hit the key that started that machine catching the employee's right hand. The employee was hospitalized to treat an amputation of her index finger and thumb.
