Employee amputates thumb while retrieving material from pad
Investigation abstract
At 9:00 a.m. on June 21, 2021, Employee #1 was attempting to retrieve nonwoven pads from a pad cutter. While his right thumb was in the path of the blade, a coworker pressed the cut button, causing the blade to activate. Employee #1 sustained an amputation of a portion of his right thumb. He was hospitalized for treatment.
