Employee is caught between yard truck and trailer, sustains

Investigation abstract

At 7:15 a.m. on July 2, 2021, an employee was riding on the deck of a yard truck while training a new operator who was driving the vehicle. During a backing maneuver, the yard truck missed the trailer's king pin and continued backing, causing the employee to become caught between the yard truck and the trailer. The employee sustained a fractured ankle and lacerations to the ankle and leg. Emergency services were called, and the employee was hospitalized.
