Event description
Three Employees with COVID-19 infection are hospitalized
Investigation abstract
At 8:00 a.m. on July 3, 2021, Employees #1, #2 and #3 worked in security positive. The employees reported they wore masks, had gloves, used hand sanitizer, stayed behind plexiglass shields, and were provided with air scrubbers. Employee #1 worked with Coworker #1 on June 23, 2021, began to feel ill on June 24, 2021, did not work on June 25, 2021, received a PCR test on June 27, 2021, received a positive test on June 28, 2021, was hospitalized on July 4, 2021, was discharged July 6, 2021, and has not returned to work. Employee #2 worked with Coworker #1, sat next to Employee #1 on June 24, 2021, called in sick on June 25, 2021, tested positive on June 27, 2021, was admitted on July 2, 2021, was discharged on July 7, 2021, return to work date unknown. Employee #3 worked near Coworker #1 but sent him home on June 23, 2021, was last in the positions before being hospitalized with COVID-19. All three employees had been office on June 25, 2021, reported symptoms on June 26, 2021, dismissed the symptoms as unrelated, was notified to isolate and test on June 26, 2021, tested negative, took a PCR on June 27, 2021, and tested positive and was hospitalized on July 5, 2021, and discharged on July 8, 2021 retiring before returning to work on October 4, 2021. Employees #1 and #2 were diagnosed with acute hypoxic respiratory failure due to COVID-19 infection and Employee # was diagnosed with pneumonia due to COVID-19. at their assigned various monitoring posts and driving duties working closely with coworkers. The employees were unvaccinated and were in contact with Coworker #1 who had traveled outside the local area on June 20, 2021 and returned from the trip congested which he thought was from allergies. Coworker #1 took a rapid tested and was negative. Coworker #1 worked for 2 more days, then began to experience COVID-19 related symptoms when Coworker #2 (Supervisor) sent him home. On June 27, 2021, Coworker #1 took a PCR test and was confirmed
