Event description
Employee falls from residential roof and fractures ankle
Investigation abstract
At 10:30 a.m. on June 14, 2021, a termite technician lead was working on the incident. second story of a two-story residential home to take measurements for scaffolding needed for dormer and fascia repairs. The employee used a closed step ladder to access the window sill. While stepping on the narrow window sill, the employee caused part of it to break, lost balance, and fell approximately 10 feet to the concrete driveway below, knocking the ladder down during the fall. The employee suffered fractures to the tibia and fibula bones in the ankle and was hospitalized for treatment, including a closed reduction of the fractures.
