Employee experiences chest pain during sewer maintenance
Investigation abstract
At 3:30 p.m. on July 26, 2021, an employee at the California Department of State Hospitals - Napa was clearing a clogged sewer using an old industrial snake with links and a manual hand crank. After completing the task, the employee experienced chest pain. The on-site State Hospital Fire Department responded, and the employee's blood pressure was verified to be very high at the occupational clinic. The employee was transported to Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa, California, and admitted overnight for a possible heart attack.
