Employee sustains laceration to right pinky while adjusting
Investigation abstract
At 8:40 a.m. on July 8, 2021, Employee #1, a welder for a subcontractor, was working inside a vault space approximately 12 feet deep at a job site managed by a general contractor. While repositioning a 36-inch diameter metal flange onto a pipe of similar size with a foreman, the employee's right pinky was pinched between the pipe and flange, causing a laceration to the fingertip. The employee was transported to Stanford Hospital, where he received stitches and was released about five hours later.
