Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
An employee was working in a desk job filing paperwork in the office of a poultry processing facility when she contracted COVID-19. The employee did not share her work station which faced a wall and there was a door separating her from anyone passing by. The employee did not car pool and there were not any positive COVID-19 cases from anyone in her department nor was she identified as a close contact of anyone else at the workplace. The employee's last day of work was July 20, 2021. She tested positive for COVID-19 on July 26, 2021 and was admitted to the hospital on the same day. The employee died due to COVID-19 complications on July 27, 2021.
