Employee sustains amputation injury from compound miter saw
Investigation abstract
At 3:37 p.m. on July 27, 2021, Employee #1 was engaged in horseplay with a compound miter saw. The employee placed the left hand underneath the saw, pulled it down exposing the spinning 12-inch blade, and actuated the saw. The employee sustained a complete amputation of the left hand above the wrist and was hospitalized.
