Employee's hand is caught in belt and pulley; results in fin

Investigation abstract

At 6:00 a.m. on May 11, 2021, an employee was attempting to adjust a slipping agitator belt using a hammer. During the task, the employee became distracted and placed his right hand on the belt. The employee's right hand was pulled between the unguarded belt and pulley, resulting in a fingertip amputation of the right middle finger. The employee was hospitalized for treatment.
