Event description

Employee becomes unconscious while cleaning

Investigation abstract

At 7:00 a.m. on July 13, 2021, Employee #1 was cleaning coal dust around a conveyor at a coal-fired power plant when a coworker found the employee unconscious. Site rescue personnel responded, and emergency services transported the employee to the hospital for admission and treatment. The employee was suspected to be experiencing heat stress, although the employee was acclimatized and the day's temperature was not unusually high. Investigation indicated the incident was linked to poor personal choices during work activities.
