Employee with COVID-19 infection is hospitalized

Investigation abstract

An employee worked for a City public transportation agency performing Parking and now drives buses. The employee stated that as a Parking Enforcement Officer she rarely interacted with the public. The Employer provides face masks, face shields, disinfectant wipes, disinfectant sprays, and gloves and the employee recalls receiving training on all required aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The employee most likely contracted COVID-19 from her spouse who attended a wedding where 30 to 40 people didn't wear masks and tested positive after the wedding. The employee did not attend the wedding. The Employer provided tools to protect the employee from COVID-19. Enforcement Officer related duties. The employee's last day at work was July 16, 2021. She reported her symptoms started on July 17, 2021 and she tested positive on July 23, 2021. On July 28, 2021, the employee was hospitalized for 6 to 7 days and returned to be admitted again one week later for another 4 to 5 days. The employer was notified of the case on July 29, 2021, and notified her worksite on July 24, 2021. The employee was not vaccinated prior to contracting COVID-19. The employee worked as a Parking Enforcement Officer which entailed issuing parking tickets and controlling traffic. The employee returned to work
