Investigation abstract

At 1:30 p.m. on August 6, 2021, an employee was operating a Band Fast Machine. While attempting to manually clear and guide metal strips on the non-operator side, he used his right hand to operate the machine and his left hand to clear debris. During this process, the tip of his left finger was pinched in the machine, leading to an avulsion. Initially treated at a clinic where the wound could not be closed, the employee was sent to a hospital, which reclassified the injury as a partial amputation. The employer was informed of the reclassification on August 5, 2021, at around 1:00 p.m. The employee was hospitalized.
