Employee with COVID-19 infection is hospitalized

Investigation abstract

An employee was working for a county social services agency. Her last day of notified her employer that she had gone to the hospital the day before and had been admitted. She further stated she did not know when she would be released. She was discharged from that hospital on August 13, 2021. After receiving medical clearance, through a negative test, she resumed her duties at work. work was July 29, 2021. She first experienced the symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, weakness, "not feeling normal") on July 30, 2021. She immediately contacted her employer. The next day, July 31, 2021, she was tested at a hospital. On August 3, 2021, the employer reported that the employee was hospitalized for COVID-19 for approximately 4 hours on July 31, 2021. On August 1, 2021, the results came back as positive for COVID-19. From August 2, 2021, through August 8, 2021, she experienced a cough, a loss of taste and smell, and weakness.
