Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
An employee was working as the senior sales manager at a resort hotel. He treatment and not COVID-19. The employee indicated it was possible that he had contracted COVID-19 due to exposure while visiting the hospital. While there, he had spent several hours in the waiting room on a floor with COVID-19 patients. contracted COVID-19. He tested positive on July 30, 2021, and he was hospitalized on August 4, 2021. At 6:00 p.m. on August 14, 2021, he died. As part of the company's COVID-19 procedures, the hotel conducted contract tracing when it became aware of a positive case. The employee did not appear to have been in close contact while at work with anyone who had COVID-19-like symptoms or who had tested positive. The employee had advised his employer that he was in and out of the hospital several times prior to testing positive for COVID-19, as he was caring for his mother.
