Investigation abstract

At 5:00 p.m. on July 22, 2021, Employee #1 was using a portable Milwaukee electromagnetic drill press to counterbore holes in a cast iron die. The employee, wearing gloves, attempted to wipe the surface area that had just been drilled. His glove was caught by the rotating bit, pulling his left hand into the drill. He sustained an amputation to the left thumb at the first knuckle. The employee was treated but not hospitalized.
