Event description

Employee incurs multiple injuries in fall from scaffold

Investigation abstract

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on August 13, 2021, an employee was working with his foreman working on top of a scaffold with makeshift planks (approximately eight feet) attempting to remove an I-beam. The employee was using a gas-powered saw in an effort to cut an I-beam. The employee lost his balance and fell from the platform and was not wearing fall protection. The employee suffered a fractured sternum, and soft tissue damage to his neck, shoulder, and back. The employee was hospitalized for these injuries.
