Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
An employee was working as a temporary forklift driver in a warehouse that primarily stores cases of bottled water for distribution to customers. On July 29, 2021, the employee began experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 in the evening after work. The employee was on a scheduled vacation from July 30, through August 2. The employee did not report to work August 3, and notified the employer through a coworker that he had tested positive for COVID-19. The employer conducted COVID-19 contact tracing and no close contacts were identified. On August 7, the employee was hospitalized. He died due to complications of the infection at 6:00 p.m. on September 2, 2021.
