Employee amputates finger when contacting metal punch press

Investigation abstract

At 2:00 p.m. on August 18, 2021, an employee working as a machine operator for a metal stamping facility was operating punch press 5. When the press activated, his right middle finger came in contact with the ram. The employee received medical treatment without hospitalization for an amputation to his finger.
