Employee sustains heat exhaustion while fighting structure f
Investigation abstract
At 5:16 a.m. on August 28, 2021, an employee working as a fire fighter was on duty at a fire department that received a call about the fire. By 5:20 a.m. the employee and coworkers on her squad responded to the scene and began battling the blaze. The employees were using the hoses on the fire truck. By 6:00 a.m. the fire was out. Around 6:10 a.m., the employee reported that she began to feel dizzy and lightheaded. She was immediately evaluated and transported to the hospital for evaluation. By 9:30 a.m., the employee was released and returned to work. The employee received medical treatment without hospitalization for a heat exhaustion.
