Investigation abstract

At 9:30 a.m. on August 19, 2021, an employee working as an electrician for a production machinery manufacturer was actuating a pneumatic slide. The employee was using a temporary air valve to manipulate the slide to determine the best location of flex points for an electric wire installation. The employee had his left hand resting on the stationary safety pin hole block. The employee caught his ring finger in the pin hole block shearing off his fingertip. The employee received medical treatment for an avulsion to the fingertip without hospitalization.
