Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

Investigation abstract

An employee was working as an air traffic controller at a federal air traffic generate a medical examiner's report. control facility. A coworker at the facility had contracted COVID-19. At approximately 5:30 p.m. on or about July 30, 2021, while the employer was conducting contact tracing, the employee reported to his supervisor and to the regional flight surgeon that he had had contact with the COVID-19-positive coworker on Thursday, July 22, 2021. At the time, the employee was asymptomatic. He was directed to quarantine for fourteen days. On August 4, 2021, he was taken to a hospital. He died there at 10:14 a.m. on September 2, 2021. His death was thought to be associated with COVID-19. The county forensic service did not
