Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
An employee worked as a nursing assistant at a skilled nursing facility. The employee had worked from August 7, 2021, to August 9, 2021, with potentially COVID-19 positive patients. The employee was off of work and visited Austin, Texas, from August 10, 2021 to August 11, 2021. The employee began to feel ill on August 12, 2021, and came in to work to get tested for COVID-19. The employee tested positive for COVID-19 and died on August 23, 2021. Details of her illness, including any hospitalization, are not included in the narrative. Information regarding engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls for COVID-19 are also not included in the narrative.
