Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
An employee was working as a mechanical engineering technician for a firm that wholesaled farm supplies. He was a service technician. He traveled to different locations. He had no subordinate employees. At some unknown time, he contracted COVID-19. His last day at work was August 20, 2021. He was hospitalized on the following day, August 21. The next day, August 22, he notified his supervisor that he was COVID-19-positive. At 7:45 a.m. on September 8, 2021, he died from causes related to CIVID-19. DOSH was notified that same day, and it was on site the following day. The employer met the reporting requirements. DOSH found no accident-related violations.
