Event description
Employee with COVID-19 infection is hospitalized
Investigation abstract
On August 12, 2021, an employee who worked as a Supervisor for a Home Healthcare baby shower she had attended at the same time. The employer then determined the illness to be non-work related. Information regarding engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls for COVID-19 are not included in the narrative. Provider was hospitalized with COVID-19. The employee had been overseeing the performance of a coworker who worked as an in-home Healthcare Aide as part of a routine inspection. The employee tested positive for COVID-19. The employer conducted contact tracing and initially determined that exposure was tied to the in-home healthcare visit. At the time of the onsite visit, the patient was not known to have COVID-19. The employer later discovered that the patient was COVID-positive during the time of the visit.
