Employee with COVID-19 infection is hospitalized
Investigation abstract
An employee, worked within the nurse station office areas with a coworker for 20, 2021, a PCR test came back positive for COVID-19. On August 22, 2021, the employee began having symptoms and on August 23, 2021, the employee tested positive for COVID-19. At 1:31 p.m. on August 28, 2021, the employee was admitted to the hospital due to a decline in respiratory condition. the duration of their shift. Both workers used surgical masks for the entire shift and kept 6 feet physical distance. The coworker was asymptomatic and fully vaccinated however it was later known that the worker was COVID-19 positive. On August 18, 2021, the employee was in an office for 2-5 minutes while a coworker retrieved an N-95 respirator to replace theirs. The employee was using eye protection and a surgical mask during this contact. On August 18, 2021, the coworker had a stuffy nose and an at home COVID-19 test resulted negative.
