Event description

Employee falls from ladder and breaks left leg

Investigation abstract

At 11:55 a.m. on May 26, 2021, Employee #1 was picking cherries using a belly bucket and a Werner Type II medium-duty 6-foot step ladder. While standing on the top cap of the ladder at approximately 5 feet 9 inches, the ladder began shaking as the employee was coming down. The employee lost balance and both the ladder and employee fell to the left side onto the ground. Employee #1 sustained a broken left leg and was hospitalized for treatment.
