Employee with COVID-19 infection is hospitalized
Investigation abstract
An employee had been working for a meat packing plant. On August 24, 2021, the the employee had contact with anyone at work while not wearing a mask. The employee stated he had not and had not exposed any coworkers. On August 27, 2021, Coworker #2 requested a copy of the employee's test results and asked the employee additional contact tracing questions. The employee stated that he believes he was exposed at a local drug store. On August 28, 2021, the employee finally forwarded the his test results to Coworker #2 after multiple requests. At 4:00 p.m. on August 31, 2021, the employee was hospitalized with COVID-19. From August 28, 2021, to September 7, 2021, the employer did not hear from the employee who continued to work from home as far as they knew. On September 7, 2021, Coworker #2 called the employee to find out how he was doing, and he told employee reported to Coworker #1 (Manager) that he had received his first her he had been in the hospital and was released on September 6, 2021. Coworker #2 asked him to provide her with the dates he was in the hospital. On September 17, 2021, the employee emailed Coworker #2 paperwork from his follow up visit to use as documentation and let her know he would continue to work from home as he felt up to it. From September 9, 2021, on the employee continues to work from home pending his next doctor visit. COVID-19 vaccine. On August 25, 2021, the employee reported to work. On August 26, 2021, he texted Coworker #1 that he was feeling ill after getting his vaccination. Coworker #2 (Human Resources Manager) emailed the employee to request a copy of the vaccination card and to check on him. The employee said he thought he was having a reaction to the vaccine and he tested positive for COVID-19. Coworker #2 asked him to send a copy of his test result. The employee told Coworker #2 that he was going to be working from home. Coworker #2 asked
