Event description
Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
An employee had been wokring as a County public safety officer. The employee has his illness. worked closely with the inmates. The detention center experienced a COVID-19 outbreak during the first week of August 2021 at which time 20 inmates contracted COVID-19. On September 8, 2021, the employee arrived at work and was sent home due to feeling ill and exhibiting COVID-19 related symptoms. On September 8, 2021, the employee was tested for COVID-19 and he rceived a positive test result on September 12, 2021. At 12:51 p.m. on September 17, 2021, the employee died and the employer was notified that the employee had died from COVID-19 on the same day. The employee was not hospitalized at any point during
