Employee is caught in dry noodle machine and sustains finger
Investigation abstract
At 12:20 p.m. on July 23, 2021, an employee was operating a Kawakami automatic dry noodle weighing and feeding system (Model KYA-6R feeding section, Model KLN-975F weighing section) when noodles became stuck in the sifter/weigher. The employee attempted to clear the obstruction by hand and her right index finger was caught in the machine, resulting in an amputation of the fingertip. The injury did not require hospitalization.
