Event description
Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
An employee had been working as a Back Counter Parts Man at the dealership positive in the same work location. The coworker was also instructed to quarantine at home. The coworker returned to work after recovery. On August 16, 2021, the employee's spouse called the employer to inform the office that the employee had been hospitalized with COVID-19 complications and had died at 5:17 p.m. on August 16, 2021. The employer had all the required preventive measures in place and it is not known how the employee contracted COVID-19. service department. The employee had worked for two weeks before experiencing COVID-19 related symptons. The employee's last day at work was Friday, July 31, 2021. On Monday August 3, 2021, the employee failed his pre-shift COVID-19 screening and stated he had a fever, nausea and aches that started on July 31, 2021. The employee was advised to stay home and get tested for COVID-19 and call-in his results before returning to work. On August 5, 2021, the employee received a positive COVID-19 test result and was told to quarantine at home as required by company policy. On or about the same time a coworker also tested
