Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
At 4:30 a.m. on August 20, 2021, an employee who had worked as the Clinic Administrative Manager for a chain of diagnositc imaging clinic died of COVID-19. In the weeks prior to her diagnosis with COVID-19, the employee worked out of an office at the Outpatient Diagnostic Center. The employee was exposed through a COVID-19 positive family member. Although the family member also worked for the same employer, she did not work at the Outpatient Diagnostic Center. The employee was not exposed to the family member while at work. The employer did not have an adequate respiratory protection program in place, but the illness was not ruled work connected.
