Employee is struck by falling cope section from core-making
Investigation abstract
At 3:48 p.m. on July 23, 2021, an employee was standing near a core-making machine when the cope section stuck to the tamping plate instead of lowering as intended. As the box shuttled out, the cope came loose, fell from the tamping plate, and struck the employee. The employee sustained a broken leg and was hospitalized. The incident occurred indoors under adequate lighting.
