Event description

Employee lacerates finger while using counter top grinder

Investigation abstract

At 1:00 p.m. on July 17, 2021, Employee #1, assigned to a meat market by his primary employer, was preparing an order of ground chicken using a Butcher Boy TCA22 Counter Top Grinder. The employee observed a piece of chicken in the ?-inch hole plate and reached for it with his left index finger. The employee's left index finger was lacerated by the grinder knife. Employee #1 was treated at Kaiser Baldwin Park. During the investigation, the Division noted lack of machine guarding and training as contributing factors.
